(Dogs Available for Adoption Not in the Care of AHS)

Rehoming fees apply to all dogs and will be discussed with the owners

Finn

Our sweet boy Finn is a bright pup looking for his forever home. He loves neighborhood walks, car rides, off leash adventures, and puppy play dates. He is fully house trained and does very well at home unsupervised.

He is approximately 2 years old, 65 pounds, neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and has received basic obedience training.

Finn would thrive in a home with an active and patient family with a fenced-in yard, and NO cats or small animals.

Finn struggles with some anxiety, prey drive, and selective reactivity, but has made lots of progress through training, exposure, and changes in medication.

We know he can live his best life with continued work in the right environment, and will make a wonderful companion for the right person/family.

Hi, my name is Poncho. My mom saved me from a kill shelter in Texas. I really like it here in the Pacific NW and especially enjoy having my head out the car window when we go for rides. It’s so fun to smell my new world.

I’m about 2½ years old and am a mishmash of retriever, beagle, and maybe cattle dog. I get along very well with other dogs. Unfortunately, I do like chasing cats so a home without cats would be best. I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and housebroken.

Everyone says how adorable I am. I like to roll over and get belly rubs from my admirers. My ideal forever home would have a fenced yard and a person that can either be with me or take me with them. I love being close to my person even if it’s just while I chew on my bones or play with my toys.

I am a healthy boy except for being treated for heart worms. But no worries it’s not contagious to humans and can only be transmitted to other animals by mosquitoes. If your other pets are on preventative care, they are safe. Also my treatment is being paid for so no worries about the cost.

I am a smart boy and am easily trainable. I already know “sit, stay, wait for me, up (on the bed), come”, etc. I love coming in from the yard and having my mom gently wipe all of my paws with a towel.

I promise if you give me a chance, I will be a loving, funny, loyal companion. Let’s meet.

Meet Maggie May, a sweet and smart 2-year-old Pitbull/French Bulldog mix, weighing 35 pounds. She’s spayed, crate and potty trained, and loves being active.

Maggie enjoys following household activities, snuggling, belly rubs, and is great with dog-savvy kids.

She needs a home with a tall, secure fence, as she’s jumped over a 4-foot fence before. Maggie loves outdoor activities like fetch, and would thrive with an active family that enjoys camping and beach trips.

Chance

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT n.monro30@gmail.com.

Chance is a 6 year old lab-mix who has been an incredible family dog. He is neutered and up-to-date on his shots. We want to make sure he goes to the right home so his rehoming fee with be discussed with interested parties only.

Chance is very affectionate, athletic, and eager to please. He has been in a house with very young kids and is great with them- very patient and sweet. He loves to hike, camp, and LOVES to chase a ball. He is very energetic and playful, but will also happily cuddle up on the couch.

Chance gets along with other dogs when we are out and about, but he does not want to live with another male dog. We believe he would do best as an only dog but with slow, proper introductions may be ok with another dog. He gets along fine with cats.

Theodore

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT eglansct@gmail.com.

Meet Theodore—he’s a 3-year-old Akbash Maremma Guardian dog. He is a super sweet, loving, silly goofball looking for his forever home and is potty trained and knows basic commands.

He is approximately 2 years old, 65 pounds, neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and has received basic obedience training.

Sadly, Theodore suffered some trauma at 7 months old when he witnessed me get attacked by a much larger dog. I held him back, keeping him safe, but ever since then he has been wary of other dogs.

Any introductions must be made under close supervision with no food of any kind present. He is very protective of his food and now resource guards his toys as well.

Due to this, he would be best if he was the only dog in the home.

Theodore is currently underweight due to our financial situation. I have had to skip meals for myself to be able to try and feed him, yet I cannot afford all the food he needs. He is currently needing 6 cups a day.

Theodore is pretty good with cats and has even been known to try to play with them. Also, Theodore is extremely leash reactive due to his previous experience so a backyard with a fence is a priority.

He needs somewhere he can run around and get out his energy. Theodore does extremely well with people but he does jump a lot so his ideal home would not have little children.

It’s important to note that he is a working guardian breed, so he needs a lot of mental stimulation. Before he was reactive and our financial crisis occurred, he received daily training and long walks, dog park fun at least three times a week, and stimulated play time. He is very active, both mentally and physically, but more so mentally.

Theodore loves to observe his surroundings and is happy watching out the windows. He is also extremely affectionate and loves to get head pets. He also loves getting his belly brushed!

He has a behavior where he will boop his nose to you which sometimes results in a head butt lol, but it was something we did all the time when he was a puppy where I bumped my nose into his, and it is now a sign of affection.

Theodore is a diamond in the rough but if someone will just grab the polishing rag and make him shine, his sparkle will never fail to light your way. He is a super, loving, smart, attentive dog and deserves the best. It breaks my heart to have to rehome him, but he needs someone who has the time to be with and train him. He needs someone who has the ability to play with him and accommodate his physical and mental needs and be able to always feed him!

Nina

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT lewis20242025@gmail.com.

Nina is a 2½ year old black lab mix. She is very sweet, chill, and she looks at you like there is no other. She knows basic commands like sit, down, and wait. She is housebroken and is up to date on her vaccines and flea/heartworm treatment. She does have a rehoming fee.

Nina gets along with other dogs once she gets to know them but has some issues with resource guarding that need to be watched. She would probably go best in a home without another dog.

We are guessing Nina wasn’t around many people as a pup so she growls and barks at strangers, but is getting less shy and accepts new people into her life, including kids!

Lily

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT kateedaley118@gmail.com.

Please meet Lily. She is a 4 year old shepherd mix who is up-to-date on shots, housebroken and spayed.

Lily is a big sweetheart; eager to please, huge on cuddling, and always happy to play. She loves to snuggle up in bed but is also just as happy to sleep in her own bed. She also has lots of energy and would love to be walked/exercised regularly.

She currently lives with 2 older dogs, 3 cats and some chickens! She loves to try to play with them all and co-exists with them well. She does like to try to roughhouse with the cats, but has no problem being "put in her place”. She also has a big, un-fenced yard she likes to roam around on, and does not have any current issues with wandering/running away.

Lily does have anxiety and is very wary of new people, especially men. However, if given patience and love, she can be quick to warm up. Otherwise, she is extremely friendly to every dog she meets, and is very good at making friends! She even likes to "guide" any new puppies she meets. She also has a big burn scar on her side that is from when she was a stray in AZ. It is no cause for concern right now, but I like to keep an eye on it.

I would love for her to find a safe, loving, and active home that can give her the attention she deserves. Her rehoming fee will be discussed. Please reach out if Lily might be the girl missing from your life.

Phoebe

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT samantha.r.muljat@gmail.com.

Phoebe is a 6 year old Heeler/Pittie mix. She is spayed, housebroken and up-to-date on all her vaccines.

Phoebe is an amazing girl but is shy at first when meeting new people. Once she gets to know you she is a spunky, athletic girl who is super affectionate and loves to snuggle/pretzel herself around her owner at night. She is super soft, so cuddling with her is one of my biggest joys.

She is a high-energy dog, which would be best suited for someone with an already active lifestyle. She is an excellent hiking/running partner.

She gets nervous around loud noises, so a busy city apartment or an environment with loud machinery would not benefit her. She would also have to be an only pet and can’t be around small children.

She is great off-leash and has a good recall. She sometimes does this thing where she “scouts” the area in front of you to make sure it’s safe.

Phoebe’s smart and funny and loves goofing around with her owner on the carpet. She also loves her “Chuck-it” and playing fetch. However, she is not good playing with dogs at the dog park and she will get reactive if other dogs try and steal her toy. Phoebe has no problem greeting other dogs on hikes however.

I’m also interested in a co-parent/open-adoption kind of situation, if the circumstances allow it. For example, if the person who wants to take her in doesn’t have enough time for walks, I could come and take her on hikes. Or if someone could only take her temporarily, that is also an option.

Stitch

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT oyoung870@gmail.com.

Please meet Stitch. He is a 3-4 years old and believed to be a Staffordshire/Shar Pei mix. He is 65ish lbs, neutered, up to date on shots and housebroken.

He was rescued off the streets in 2022 and we have been working hard to show him how life can be good. He loves his routine and is good with our 10-year-old. He is a huge cuddler and loves giving lots of kisses.

Stitch is a great dog but needs time to adjust to new people and situations. He needs someone who is experienced and has the time, patience, and know-how to handle some of his behavioral challenges. He needs a slow introduction to other dogs because he can be dog-reactive. Stitch has a high prey drive, so cats or small animals would be a bad mix. He also might knock over smaller children, due to his size and energy. He has some resource-guarding issues too, that we have been working on.
Stitch loves his routine and is good with our 10 year old. He is a huge cuddler and loves giving lots of kisses. He also loves sun bathing and just relaxing out in the yard. He is very quiet and rarely barks. He does well in the car and on road trips. His favorite daily activity is running with us while we go for bike rides. Stitch walks well on a leash and needs a ride/run or a good walk daily. You’ll know if he gets pent up because he makes it clear with his puppy-like dance moves and wiggles.

We want what’s best for Stitch and are hoping you might be the patient, loving home he needs to continue growing into the amazing dog we see him turning into. Are you that home?

Cody

THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT curlygoddess@yahoo.com.

This is Cody . He is a 7yr old Jack Russell terrier . Lives up to Jack Russell facts. He is very affectionate and can cuddle up to us but is also very energetic and active, and he needs more activity, which I cannot provide. I have had him for a year and came from my niece who had him 6 yrs and needed rehoming due to their moving to a new apartment that had restrictions. I will have all shots up to date and printed. He was neutered 3-4 yrs ago.

Cody was not trained at all, and I’m unable to provide training expenses. When I walk Cody, he gets reactive with people and other dog but most times calms down. He is mostly house broken but when I have long days (I’m semi-retired) I can come home to surprises. About 6months ago he developed seizures. We have been to the vets and he is now on 2 different medications and the seizures seems to be under control.

Cody is very playful but can be mischievous also. He was raised with another dog and 2-3 cats. They tolerated each other. He is a very smart boy and is treat motivated so shouldn’t be too hard to train for someone that has time. I’ve spoiled him as well. I’m going to miss him and wish things were different.
