AHS Public Announcement

updated 7/1/2021

Effective 12:01 a.m. on June 30, Governor Inslee has declared that all industry sectors may return to usual capacity and operations, with limited exceptions. In light of this welcome change, AHS is beginning to gradually return to hosting public adoption and informational events. For the continued safety and health of our volunteers and the public, AHS will do the following:

* AHS will continue to follow the guidelines put in place by Governor Inslee and the Whatcom County Health Department regarding mask requirements and social distancing.

* AHS is slowly beginning to host public adoption and informational events again in outdoor spaces. Please watch our website and Facebook page for upcoming events.

* All meet-and-greets and potential adoptions continue to be done by appointment only and at the discretion of case managers and fosters following safe distancing and PPE protocols.

* Donations are still being accepted in our bin at the Bellingham Petco located by the front door. Cash donations of any amount you choose or online donations through our Amazon Wishlist on our website are most welcome too. You can also choose to order from a local partner, Pet Stop.

*** We will be doing adoptions to Canada on a case by case basis as the border still has restrictions.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support as we get through this together. We look forward to seeing you when our events start up again when possible.
